[ ..The Tree..]

So what exactly did it mean, they all could wonder this. The fact of the matter was Thane was a creature that loved to prowl, a cat in nature so to speak.

And he had prowled over many places, and many lands. Sometimes places he should not be..but this particular time he had found something strange. Something he had never come across before.

And it just so happend that this strange thing happend to reside on the Empires lands, So far he was unable to find out much information on this thing...that thing being a great and massive tree he had happend upon in his roaming.

The Giant thing...Dominated the forest he had found it in, the trees twisted limbs, black as coal, seemed to creep about the forest and infact over the years had seized other trees around it...some of their bark still alive and brown, or white in color..but where they were not alive...black as the night.

The forest, and this tree in question were infact located not too far from the main walls of the empire...though some had infact said it was cursed!

How he happend upon this tree was anyones guess, totally by chance..just a little bit of cats luck. Needless to say those he had ask about it had many strange things to say regarding it.

Another strange feature of this giant thing was the fact that anyone akin to listening to those in this forest could hear a distant whispering....nothing could really be made out..though it did infact make the hair stand on end..no peasents would dare come near this tree...

So he stood there, staring up at the thing and pointed at it briefly...feeling eyes on him that were not there...and as he turned...eyes on his back [glow=green,2,300]"I definitly need to ask around about this thing..."[/glow]

::as he had began his reasearch about the dreadful thing he had discovered, he happend upon Gracia as he searched and definitly had to question her regarding it, however ultimately he was not entirely satisfied with the response he received::


[glow=blue,2,300]Thomas Thane: ::he wandered up to Gracia with a bit of an unsettled look on his face, as he had recalled something a few moments ago from his travels on the empires lands..:: hey uhm..Gracia lass, do ye ever do any surveys of the UEoR woods?? A great black tree with twisted branches..that appears to be holding something within it...something infact that does nae even seem interested in remotely being released to assist ye all...but the funny thing is..its on the empires lands, I am wondering who or what locked it into this..treee..[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Gracia Rodello: ::Nods::I've never heard of the tree at all. Although I have heard some rumors, but I thought those were old housewives tales[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Gracia Rodello: ::A pop from fingertips as they were pressed back and lashes fluttered down to them:: Oh, its something about a wailing woman. But probably no truth to it.[/glow]


[glow=blue,2,300]Thomas Thane: ::Raised brow at that:: I see...well..I suppose its a good possibility that some of these lands may infact be haunted..[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Gracia Rodello: ::looking annoyed she twiddled her fingers and sat closer to him, her voice rising a little bit as she told him the story she had heard:::Well, it may be haunted. Rakha told me the story, it was of this woman who lost her children within the forest towards the right side of the main manor wall

Gracia Rodello: she went out looking for them and just couldn't find them. So, its said that she made a pact with the devil. But the devil's never a good idea and the woods ended up cursed..no one knwos why or how but its been like that ever since. Its warned for children not to go through there.[/glow]

::he had moved on, still unsatisfied...now curious if there might be anyone else that might know this things origins....By this point he had actually approached Aeria to question her regarding it...Perhaps the Emperor might know something??::

[glow=blue,2,300]Thomas Thane: Aye..nae kidding...Look at it..the branches are twisted and the bark it's self is as black as coal..[/glow]

[glow=maroon,2,300]Aeria M Fairwind: It's not just a tree any more....it once was...perhaps...long ago...but something inhabits it. Seems to have....rotted it from the inside...petrified it....made it dark and a shadow of it's former grand beauty. I would imagine it hasn't grown at all since whatever it was poisoned it..[/glow]
